PAFA

Introduction

At HIS, our PAFA members play an important role. All parents are automatically PAFA members, having a child in HIS. Without the help of all parents with the various events, and the good atmosphere this brings within our school community, life would be less fun for our children in school.

New students and parents sometimes feel a bit lost in their new school and living environment. We have a wonderful Welcoming Committee consisting of many parents from all different backgrounds, cultural and/or language wise. They will help the new parents find their first steps in Hangzhou and at HIS. Look for more information on our website under PAFA (scroll down to Welcoming Committee) and find your person to contact.

We are happy to introduce the Social Committee again, ready to organize a variety of events at the most beautiful and interesting spots in Hangzhou. They will announce the events as soon as information is available and/or reservations have been made. If you want to share a wonderful exhibition, or have another idea how to spend time with other parents in Hangzhou, please contact the Social Committee.

Sports is a big part of the day-to-day life at HIS. To get parents, teachers and students more involved in the variety of sports activities offered at HIS, a group of active parents took on the challenge to start a Sports Committee. You will hear from them soon!

PAFA needs funds in order to sponsor a wide range of activities we organize for both Lower and Upper School. We will regularly announce fund raisers from bake sales to dance nights. All the money we make will always benefit your children.

We ended last school year choosing our new PAFA team. We realized that, with many people attending this event, parents are interested in playing a role in our community life. So let´s officially introduce to you the 2011-2012 Parents And Friends Association team:

On the PAFA board in the reception area, you will find all their details (names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers) so in case of questions or remarks, you can always contact one of us. You can contact PAFA at pafa_hz@scischina.org. 

We will do our best to organize the events and to maintain the open communication with teachers and management. But we do need your help, so keep an eye on your mail and join us in making the school a place where it is fun to be!
